Ayurveda, Finding Balance, and New Practices

The past couple years have been a big learning trajectory, so it’s been quiet on my part. want to give you an update on what I’ve been working on and hope that I can put these lessons into practice for you.

Things are busy around our house and life can sometimes feel a little off balance. So despite my amazing yogi balance (ask me to show you next time I see you!) my external worlds and mind can sometimes get a little overwhelmed and off track. Even though I have many amazing tools (Reiki, Theta Healing, Yoga, Herbalism) I was still struggling to find the perfect rhythm in myself and with my family.

In 2014, I started taking a course in Ayurveda.

“Ayurveda helps the healthy person to maintain health, and the diseased person to regain health. It is a medical-metaphysical healing life-science,the mother of all healing arts”-Vasant Lad

I had a very passive interest in it for many years but now I started learning and testing ideas and figuring out what would help in my life and others’. I started to put Ayurvedic theory into my parenting and my relationships and my daily consumption. I started striving to learn all the ways to live in the season, use more of my local ecosystem and to flourish through whatever was going on in the world at large.

A couple things that I’ve incorporated into my days are putting some dandelion from my yard into my morning smoothie: incorporating more nutrients than kale and for free (plus my yard looks tidier, if you’re into that,) and sipping on hot water throughout the day, helping to rinse and flush plaque and bacteria from my system. This has played a hand in helping me to stay healthy throughout the year and I didn’t even get my yearly birthday cold!

I have a lot more to say about Ayurveda. I’m excited to show others how to impact their lives in lasting ways for the better and better and better.

If you want to make large changes in your health and your life or simply micro tune your life to the next amazing level, if you would like to continue to be a better and better you, I invite you to step into your best way of being. At the start of the year, I’m teaching a 10 week course called Health Bloom to help you to create healthy habits and rituals in your life. I am offering it both live in Portland and online.

I know there are lots of stressors out there. Learn how to find your best balance.

with LOVE,

Heather
